The Novice Championship will be run in accordance with the rules for an IN class, but confined to: 1. Horses that from 1st July of the previous season to 30th June of the current season that have been placed in the first 10 of a 1-star three day event or in the first 6 of a CIC1* or 1st, 2nd or 3rd in an IN, ON or Nov (inc JRN) One Day Event, in Scotland or elsewhere in Great Britain if ridden by a resident in Scotland or a person born there. 2. Grade 2 and 3 horses that have completed in the previous 6 months prior to the Championships with no more than 20 penalties in the cross country phase (excluding time penalties) at Intermediate, CIC2* or CCI2*, in Scotland or elsewhere in Great Britain if ridden by a resident in Scotland or a person born there. The Scottish Novice Champion will walk away with £500 courtesy of sponsors Albert Bartlett. The Intermediate Championship will be run in accordance with the rules for an AI class, but confined to: 1. Horses that from 1st July of the previous season to 30th June of the current season that have been placed in the first 10 of a 2-star three day event or in the first 6 of a CIC2* or 1st to 6th in an Intermediate or higher class, in Scotland or elsewhere in Great Britain if ridden by a resident in Scotland or a person born there. 2. Any Grade 1 horse that has completed in the previous 6 months prior to the Championships with no more than 20 penalties in the cross country phase (excluding time penalties) at Intermediate level or above, in Scotland or elsewhere in Great Britain if ridden by a resident in Scotland or a person born there. The Scottish Intermediate Champion will win £1000 courtesy of sponsors Dunbog Sport Horses.
